Abstract: Vertical vibration velocity is an important index of blasting vibration intensity. Based on the review of the forecast methods for vertical vibration velocity, an estimation method that uses numerical calculation is proposed. Meanwhile, calculation is also made of the vibration velocity of different particles at three different interval charge structures, namely rock powder, water and air. The calculation results show that they agree well with those practically measured when the explosion center distance is not large and there is a tendency for the error between them to increase with the increase of the distance. For different charge structures, the ground vertical vibration velocity is the maximum in case of water interval charge, secondary for rock powder interval charge and the minimum for air interval charge.
