Application of SLon Continuous Centrifugal Separators in Recovering Fine Iron Minerals from Mine Tailings

Abstract: SLon centrifugal separators realize a continuous centrifugal separation in centrifugal force field by applying the cleaning and cutting principles of water beam jets to centrifugally pressed large density particle layers. The machines are characterized by good separation, large throughput, energy conservation and environment friendship. 10 SLon-1600 mm x 900 mm units were used in the tailing recovering process of SLon high intensity magnetic separators for roughing and centrifugals for cleaning in Hainan Steel. Nearly three months' industrial test of SLon continuous centrifugal separators achieved a concentrate with a grade of 56.56% and iron recovery of 61.59% from a feed grading 50.25% at a unit throughput of 2.0~3.0 t/h. Its successful application in Hainan Iron and Steel Co. will produce considerable economic and environment benefits.
