Abstract: Virtual reality technology was used to construct a virtual environment of underground production, which was used as the background for the modularized overall planning of mine safety training system.The system framework of virtual reality (VR) technique-generated excavation safety training was designed.The key techniques applied in the system development for generating real-time 3D virtual scenes and interior objects in the virtual scene, stereoscopic display and sensing are described.Scene modeling was made by graph-picture mixing method and using mine real data.Based on this, two safety training methods “virtual disaster environment” and “question and answer board” were designed according to the characteristics of mine safety training.The application of virtual reality technology in mine safety training has therefore stepped on a new stage.
