Abstract: The natural resource and environment in mining area exploitation are seriously destroyed but rehabilitation is very little, leading to the deterioration even loss of the living condition of local residents and their future generations, and causing the safety problem of natural resource and environment. Therefore, it is of great significance to conduct the study on the safety of the natural resource and environment in mining area. The paper describes in detail some issues concerning the study, including the research subject scope, the definition and meaning of resource and environment safety in mining area, the discipline basis of the study and its relation with sustainable development.
