Abstract: With the speeding-up of the construction of mining cities and mining areas, the lack of land for construction has become increasingly prominent. It is inevitable to utilize caved mined-out areas for the construction of various transport or electrical and communication facilities. The key issue for the structures above the old mined-out area is the residual movement amount of the old mined-out area. The law of subsidence and the rate of subsidence after stoping halt were obtained by analyzing the ground movement data of several mine areas. The mechanism of the ground subsidence speed change after stoping halt was analyzed in consideration of the stress-strain change law of the rock mass overlying the mined-out area.Models for different stages were established and used to forecast the ground subsidence speed and amount after stoping halt, providing a basis for the forecast of residual movement deformation of old mined-out area.
