Abstract: The safety and stability of tailing reservoirs are of great importance to the mining production and environmental protection.Based on the practical experience in the projects of tailing reservoirs and hydropower engineering, the calculation methods for protecting tailing dams against flooding are studied.The calculation examples have testified that these calculation methods can be effectively used in the flood prevention of tailing reservoirs, being of great significance to guiding the flood prevention of tailing dams in flood season.
