Abstract: Chengchao iron mine is a typical skarn deposit in the southeast of Hubei province.Ore-controlling structures are mainly characterized by the superposition of dynamic thermal contact metamorphic structure, contact zone structure and various faults and fissures. The orebodies mainly occur in the steep-to-gentle transition section of the contact plane between granite and wall rock, and lie in the synclinal trough of the near N-S strike to the side of magma rock. From the deep extension of the contact plane between granite and wall rock, we conclude that both sides along the “ridge” of the near N-S strike between E14 to E0 prospecting lines and the section west of W27 prospecting line, especially the section between W49 to W59 prospecting lines, are provided with the structural and stratigraphic conditions favorable for mineralization, and have good exploration prospects.
