Abstract: The spatial database is both the core and the key to GIS while the data model is the premise and the foundation for a spatial database.Therefore, it is especially important to design and establish the data model for spatial database.The paper studies the conceptual model, logistic model based on the spatial databases, defines the logical relationships between the elements composing the digital geological map, and describes the detailed construction of the physical model of the cross-border geological map of Balkhash-Junggar regions by a combined use of 2003 Visio and ArcGIS CASE tool, by which the spatial data and attribute data are effectively converged and the object-oriented digital geological map data model is established.
