Abstract: Zhejang Linan-produced active bentonite was used as the raw material to produce a modified active bentonite by adding ZnCl2 modifier. The raw bentonite and the modified active bentonite were characterized by BET, XRD and FT-IR, and the results show that, on the surface of the modified active bentonite, the concentration of acid sites has increased while the specific surface area decreased. The modified active bentonite was then used as catalyst to remove the olefins from aromatics, and the result shows an improvement in olefins removal effect and a prolonged service life.
