Abstract: Considering the deposit occurrence and wallrock properties, a new approach of large-diameter long-hole side caving is proposed, in which undercut is not made independently but formed by the extension of large diameter holes, which enables the stope room caving and the formation of flat bottom structure.The stope elements and process of this approach are discussed and the unit explosive consumption and the explosive charging and wire connecting mode in the test are described.Some valuable results are gained from the test.
