    The paper studies in-depth the rheological fracture of jointed rock mass under inducement conditions, summarizes the three different destruction mechanism of rheological fracture, and determines to use the branch crack propagation length as a unified criterion for the three destruction mechanisms in judging jointed rock mass destruction.On this basis, the paper proposes for the first time that the three requirements for a spontaneous caving of jointed rock mass under gravity be destruction conditions, free face conditions and equilibrium conditions, and deduces and establishes the criterion mathematical expression for the rheological fracture and spontaneous caving of jointed rock mass.The study results are then turned into a computer program, providing a new efficient method for the study of spontaneous caving law and the forecast caving speed forecast of rock mass of rheological fracture type.

    Grey relational analysis was used in the optimal selection of three mining methods proposed for Xinqiao Pyrite Mine.The factors influencing the mining method were classified into four categories: economic indicators, safety indicators, resource utilization rate and technical indicators.The relational degrees of the three mining methods were found to be 0.865, 0.75 and 0.712 and as a result, the 1st method was selected, which was upward horizontal slicing-cemented filling method.The mine practice shows that grey relational theory can well select the mining method and obtain a more scientific analysis result.

    The paper presents the backfilling technology of high density total tailings prepared by a new type vertical sand silo.Extremely fine total tailings are directly prepared into high density slurry by a special vertical sand silo using slurry making technology with rationally controlled pressure for assisting the tailing flow.Control Cement and other auxiliary materials are added into the tailings in the proportion as test specified, which are fully agitated and adjusted to the required density.High density total tailings thus prepared or cemented total tailings are transported to the deep underground mined-out area by gravity.The technology can effectively control the geopressure of the stoping area so as to realize a safe and efficient deep mining.It can be widely used in mining-backfilling mines, laying a foundation for non-waste mining and being of enormous significance to promoting and transforming the mining process of metal mines.

    The existence of the joints is an important characteristic of rock mass distinctly different from rock, and also an important factor leading to the heterogeneousness and anisotropy of rock mass.On the basis of the analysis of the mechanism of blast failure mode of rock mass affected by joints, a new numerical method, or numerical manifold method, which can perfectly simulate the joint distribution in rock mass and the occurrence and propagation of cracks, is adopted to simulate the failure process of three rock masses with such joints as no joints, averagely distributed horizontal joints or averagely distributed vertical joints respectively under the blast impact load perpendicular to the circumference.From the simulation results, it can be evidently seen that the existence of the joints plays a vital role in controlling the failure form of rock mass.The failure form of the intact rock mass has good symmetry, while for rock masses with horizontal joints or vertical joints, their failure forms are controlled by the distribution of the joints to large extent.

    With the increasing mining depth, the geopressure-caused problems are increasing, mainly including roof caving, wall falling and rockburst.In view of these, the paper studies the staged mining sequence of deep-buried orebodies, simulates with 2D-σ program two different staged mining sequences, and analyzes their stress field and displacement fields.The simulation result indicates that the upward mining can better improve the stress and displacement so as to weaken the roof caving and wall falling in deep mining.

    The open-pit mining safety was threatened by the large amount of mined-out area under Sandaozhuan Open Pit Mine, Luoyang Molybdenum Group.The mined-out areas were classified and analyzed and different treatment processes were used for them respectively.For example, long and medium hole explosion and long hole explosion were used for different areas for 145 times, which involved a mined-out area of 116.3hm2 and a volume of 13.392 million  m3.This technical method has effectively solved the problems in mining safety and explored a new effective way for the treatment of mined-out area, making the work into an orderly, normalized and scientific stage.It is of important reference significance to the safe and rational development of domestic mine resources of the same type.

    The upstream construction method of tailing dams uses the tailings in the reservoir to construct the later-period sub-dam.As the tailings in the reservoir is in under-consolidated state and has low density and loose structure during the mine production period, it is very sensitive to seism and very easy to liquefy due to seismic effect, leading to the instability of dam body.In combination with a research project of a tailing dam adopting upstream construction method, the impact of after-shock on the stability of tailing dam is analyzed, with the results being reference to the seismic design of similar tailing dam projects.

    In light of the characteristics of oxide and sulphide-mixed copper ore from Yulong Mine of high pyrite content|oxidation rate, secondary copper minerals content, and content of gangue easy to slime and complex properties, beneficiation tests and bioleaching tests were made for the ore on various flowsheets.It is recommended, through the comparison of test results, to adopt a flowsheet consisting partial copper-sulfur bulk flotation and flotation for separating copper from sulfur, which can obtain a copper concentrate grading 19.54%at a copper recovery of 19.54%, which are good performances.

    Study was made on the separation of lead and zinc in a complex lead-zinc polymetallic ore.The chemical composition and lead-zinc phases of the ore were analyzed and the kinds of lead, zinc, gold and silver minerals and their size disseminating characters were indentified.A preferential flotation flowsheet was adopted, which used calcium oxide and zinc sulfate to depress zinc sulfide and SN-9 as the collector to obtain a qualified lead concentrate, and used copper sulfate to activate the zinc to obtain a qualified zinc concentrate, with the lead and zinc recoveries reaching 94.06% and 86.80% respectively, and the associated gold and silver being enriched in lead and zinc concentrates.

    To study the stability of grouting waterproof wall system, a test was made on the permeability of grouting wall by the MTS815.02 electro-hydraulic servo controlled rock mechanics testing system, and the permeability characteristics of grouting wall system in the whole process of compression fracture were identified.The result shows that the permeability coefficient will increase gradually with the pressure increase and drastically after the strain gets to a critical value, when the fissure will occur.Moreover, the fissures and grouting concretion have an evident effect on the permeability coefficient.

    Pulsating high gradient magnetic separation is one of the effective ways to separate weakly magnetic minerals.Presently, there are pulsating high gradient magnetic separators with a vertical or horizontal magnet system.The kind with a horizontal magnet system adopting multi-gradient and air-gas joint discharge techniques was tested in Shanghai Meishan Iron Concentrator.The test results showed that, at the same operation conditions, its performance indexes reached those with a vertical magnet system operating on the production site, which were kept in a long-term operation.It ran for three months on the site of Meishan Concentrator without replacing the medium box, which indicates that this equipment is rationally designed and its ore discharging mode is both advanced and efficient.

    A fuzzy intelligent controller was designed for the ore pulp level in the pump sump in the classification stage of mineral separation.It uses the fuzzy control arithmetic and frequency speed control technology to realize the control of the pulp level in the sump so as to solve the problem that the variation of pump throughput due to an intense variation of pulp level can lead to a reduced classification efficiency of hydrocyclones.The simulation result shows that the system's steady state error is smaller than 0.17%, thus improving the classification capacity of hydrocyclones.

    Test was made on using a pulse cartridge dust collector to purify 0.5~5 μm ultrafine powder.The main performance parameters of the collector such as its purification efficiency, resistance and filtering wind speed.The test result shows that for 0.5~5 μm ultrafine powder, the dust resistance is less than 300 Pa at a filtering wind speed of 0.8~1.25 m/min,and is less than 1 200 Pa at a filtering speed of 2.8 m/min, and the purification efficiency is 99.999 7%.The pulse cartridge dust collector has advantages of high dusting efficiency, low resistance loss and economized power consumption, benefiting its application in the purification of ultrafine powder.

    In light of the features of red mud from Bayer process, the characteristics of Pingguolu red mud dump and the physical and mechanical properties of the red mud in the dump are analyzed.The causes for the cracks in the surface of the dump stacked by red mud dry discharge are elaborated and the stability of red mud dump slope with crack existence is calculated by using the SLOP/W module in Geo-Slope software.The result indicates that the existence of cracks can reduce the static safety coefficient of the red mud dam by about 0.5% and the red mud dump which has been stacked to the secondary sub-dam is stable at normal operation conditions.

    In view of the deficiencies of current dust and smoke suppressors for coalmine blasting, such as low efficiency, difficult acquisition of raw material and high price, a kind of high-performance formulation of dust and smoke suppressor is developed by using uniform design method to decide the mixing proportion, which is composed of hygroscopic agent, surfactant, smoke suppressor and corrosion inhibitor.Taking these 4 elements as variables, a regression equation for dust and smoke suppression coefficients is obtained by stepwise regression method based on 3.0 version software for uniform designing.On this basis, the optimal value of dust and smoke suppression coefficients is found under given experimental conditions.The optimized formulation of aqueous solution is: hygroscopic agent, 5%; surfactant, 1%, erosion inhibitor 0.4%;and smoke suppressor 0.2%.Application tests indicate that this kind of agent can effectively and conveniently suppress the poisonous dust and smoke produced in coalmine blasting, and will have an extensive application prospect in safety and environment field.

    Xanthate in the process wastewater of iron ore flotation was selected as target substance.Study was made on treating the atomized Xanthate by a combination of activated carbon, ultraviolet light and ozone oxidation.The experiment investigated the influence of the pH value, ozone dosage, activated charcoal, atomization, free radical scavenger on the xanthate removal rate, and the two methods (atomization/O3/UV/GAC and aeration/O3/UV/GAC) were compared.The results show that, under the conditions of wastewater atomization, no pH adjustment, a reaction time of 35 minutes, and an ozone dosage of 300 mg/L, the xanthate removal rate was 96.3%, 15% higher than that by the process of aeration/O3/UV/GAC.This process can be used as a deep treatment means for xanthate-containing wastewater.

    For an optimal management and automatic supervisory control of the mine multi-fan and multi-station ventilation system, a certain number of monitoring points should be allocated in proper sites of the system so as to provide necessary information reflecting and estimating the system operation status, which is an important part of computer's on-line optimal management.The layout of monitoring points of ventilation system is related to the number and location of monitoring points as well as the network decomposition method.A simultaneous consideration of the relation between their layout and the said three factors will complicate the issue and therefore, it is considered as a two-level question.First, the point location and network decomposition method are not considered at this time and the point number is determined by Fibonacci method; and then, at the given point number, the optimal point location is determined and further the optimum outcome of network decomposition and the largest modular difference can be got.Its practical application shows that it can make the question easy to solve with not a high computing work load.

    Study was made on the beneficiation process for recovering rare-earth from the low intensity magnetic separation (LIMS) tailing of high intensity magnetic separation (HIMS) rougher concentrate after magnetizing roasting in Baogang concentrator.Tests were made on the single flowsheet and a whole-flowsheet consisting of one rougher, three cleanings and one scavenging for treating the concentrate obtained from the bulk flotation of LIMS tailing after carbon removal.The test results show that a rare-earth concentrate product having a REO grade of 64.41% and a recovery of 18.13% can be obtained.Suggestions are made on the improvement and optimization of the test flowsheet.

    Dabaoshan Mine is a large polymetallic sulfide deposit in the South China.The analysis shows its tailings contain abundant metal sulfides such as pyrites, pyrrhotite, sphalerite, chalcopyrite and galena, and also quartz and clay minerals, of which the content of metal element Zn is of the recovery value.In light of the tailings composition characteristics of and the available recovery technology for tailings, a new method for recovering Dabaoshan metal sulfide tailings is proposed as a result of the research, in which, the tailings are screened and gravity-separated into light and heavy fractions.The heavy minerals are treated by flotation to recover the metal element Zn, by oxidation and roasting to recover sulfur, by chlorination-roasting to recover other metal elements and by magnetization to recover iron minerals.The light fraction of gravity separation can be directly utilized or screened prior to utilization.This process can make use of tailings as resource without polluting the environment, realizing the aim of non-tailing mine.

    The too high moisture and difficult dewatering of Meishan iron tailings made it difficult to comprehensively utilize.To solve the challenge, industrial tests were made on the classified dewatering of the tailings in the concentrator in 2006.The equipment used in the test included FX-200 cyclones, a TT-24 m2 ceramic filter and a XMZ-340/1250 box filter press.At a filtering pressure of 0.08~0.09 MPa, coarse fraction tailings product was obtained with a moisture of 14.84%, filter coefficient of 0.458 t/(m2·h) and yield of 42.68%.The test result showed that the dewatering of the classified fine fraction tailings by the existing filter press resulted in increased product moisture and filtering time.The classified dewatering has also brought a reduction of production cost by 0.58 yuan per ton tailings.
