Design and Application of the Integral Dust Control System of an  Ore Discharge Station in Dongguashan Copper Mine

Abstract: In light of the serious dust pollution in the ore discharge station at -580 m level in Dongguashan Copper Mine, an integral dust control system was proposed, which is composed of three parts: high pressure fog spraying system for depressing dust, ventilation system for dust exhaust and set-limit spraying system.The high pressure fog spraying system has thoroughly solved the dust pollution in ore discharge at this level, raising the dusting efficiency by more than 80% at this level and also improving that of other levels; the application of ventilation system can reduce the dust concentration at this level to below 20 mg/m3 within five minutes of the ore discharge at other levels; and the application of set-limit spraying system has reduced the dust concentration by more than 70% after passing the water curtain.The practical application of this system has achieved remarkable results, which can be the reference to other similar mines.
