Abstract: To improve the additional value of the pyrite cinder of Meishan Iron Mine, test was made on producing iron oxide red by beneficiation process consisting of screening, pre-grinding of screen undersize fraction, rinsing, ultra fine grinding, reverse flotation of carbon, sulfur, calcium and magnesium, and reverse flotation of silicon.Iron oxide red of magnetic material grade containing 98.19% Fe₂O₃ and 0.48% SiO₂ and that of pigment grade containing 95.06% Fe₂O₃ and 0.83% SiO₂ were obtained, and the screen oversize product and the froth product of reverse flotation can be directly sold as iron concentrate.
