Abstract: Slurry was prepared using Meishan tailing as raw materials. The viscosity of slurry was detected with NDJ-1-type rotating viscometer.Effect of the pH value, dispersant content,solid-phase content,as well as the size of the tailings on the rheological properties of slurry were investigated. The result showed that: the slurry's viscosity decreased gradually when pH value less than 6,and the viscosity increased when pH value more than 6.When dispersant content was less than 0.25%,the slurry's viscosity decreased as the dispersant increased; It was opposite when dispersant content was more than 0.25%.With solid-phase content increasing, the viscosity of slurry was increased; With increase of milling time, the aggregation of particles took place, leading to the apparent size increased. The aggregation of particles was broken during the preparation of slurry, the particles would be fully dispersed, thus resulting in the viscosity of slurry increase.
