Abstract: A molybdenum ore had a high content of slimes and carbonate gangue, leading to a great difficulty in its beneficiation. The beneficiation test for this ore adopted a whole flotation process, where modified sodium silicate was used as slime disperser and gangue depressor, lead nitrate as activator, kerosene and RT as collectors, and terpenic oil as frother. The bulk flotation of molybdenum sulfides and oxides was carried out as molybdenum roughing, and the rougher concentrate was then cleaned at heating and high alkaline medium, achieving good results. The molybdenum concentrate grading 30.78% at a 72.03% Mo recovery was obtained from a run-of-mine ore grading 0.17% Mo.
