Abstract: The open-pit mining has more advantages than underground mining，but its disadvantages is also very obvious，that is，a lot of rocks are also peeled in minerals exploitation.Relative to the waste rock dump of underground mining，open-pit mining needs a larger one.Gushan Iron Mine is located in the Yangtze River Plain，so how to decide waste dump site is an old problem for mines.Using the existing open pit，the stripping and mining site is rationally adjusted，and conditions are created for realizing the inner dump and extending the open pit service life of Gushan Iron Mine.
