Abstract: The fine oolitic hematite ores (<20 μm) are easily covered by ore slimes, therefore, it is very difficult to get a satisfactory separation result with traditional crafts, like gravity separation, magnetic separation, and flotation.Hence, the tiny iron ores can not be recovered effectively, leading to about a large of useful minerals running off.Lots of researches indicated that the selective flocculation was an effective separation craft in many research works. In view of oolitic hematite ores, different effects of flocculant dosage, mixing time, shear rate and the amount of dispersant on the flocculation behavior are studied, laying a foundation for further selective flocculation separation research.
