Abstract: According to the surface damage caused by underground mining, with the reference of the coal mining under the buildings, water and railway, and combining with the characteristics of band structure of high-grade highway, the paper discussed the damage of surface subsidence, inclination, curvature, horizontal displacement and horizontal deformation on high-grade highway caused by underground mining. It will result in caving of the upper rock layer covering when underground coal resources are mined out to be a certain degree. If mining continued, the damage will lead to the surface and ground deformation, and badly affect the buildings and structures on the surface. For high-grade highway, underground mining will produce failures of moving pavement basin and pavement steps, collapse road pit and tank, settlement of high road embankment, landslides and other damages.
