Abstract: The iron minerals in a certain iron ore of Yunnan mainly exist in hematite-limonite and siderite with high phosphorus of 1.13%. Researches on iron improving and phosphorus decreasing were made through new process of chlorinating segregation-low intensity magnetic separation. Large amount of experiments showed that the optimal conditions were as follows: coke dosages of reducers 10%,chlorinating agent L4 dosages15%,segregation temperature at 1 000 ℃,segregation time for 45 min, grinding fineness of 85.38% -0.074 mm,and low intensity magnetic separation field intensity 0.16 T. Under this condition,Fe grade and recovery rate of iron concentrate can reach 75.33%~76.44% and 83.63%~85.66% respectively, and phosphorus content decrease to 0.215%~0.218%.
