Abstract: This paper introduces the distribution of chromite in the world and reviews the phenomenon that the external dependence of chromite has reached 95% while the poor chromite resource in China is hard to meet the growing demand and the limitation in gravity separation of chromite at current. Then, the direction to strengthen the study on the flotation and especially some new flotation reagents is put forward, and the relative suggestions to ensure the sustainable supply of chromite resources are proposed.
