    Review and Prospect of SLon Magnetic Separators on Raising Ilmenite Recovery

    There are abundant deposits of magnetite associated with vanadium and titanium in Panzhihua region,Chengde region and other places in China. In the early days,ilmenite is mainly recovered by gravity separation and electric separation. TiO2 recovery can only reach about 10% and enormous fine ilmenite particles are lost in the tails. From 1994,SLon vertical ring and pulsating high gradient magnetic separators are applied into ilmenite processing industry,which can effectively recover fine ilmenite particles. The development of SLon magnetic separators and flotation technology promoted the rapid development of ilmenite processing technology in China. Nowadays,ilmenite recovery has normally reached 40%. However,there is still great potential to raise ilmenite recovery in China. Through optimizing ilmenite processing flow sheet and equipments,ilmenite recovery still can be raised to 50%~60%. If the breakthrough on beneficiation technology for -20 μm ilmenite is made to recover some of titanium ores from the high intensity magnetic separation and tailings flotation,the titanium recovery is expected to reach 70%.

    This paper introduces the distribution of chromite in the world and reviews the phenomenon that the external dependence of chromite has reached 95% while the poor chromite resource in China is hard to meet the growing demand and the limitation in gravity separation of chromite at current. Then, the direction to strengthen the study on the flotation and especially some new flotation reagents is put forward, and the relative suggestions to ensure the sustainable supply of chromite resources are proposed.

    The relationship between the failure of the tunnel and initial stress field is known by the method where the failure processing in different initial stress fields is simulated by using RFPA2D developed by Northeastern University.According to the simulation result,in the condition of vertical stress greater than horizontal stress,the failure occurs in lateral wall of the tunnel.On the other hand,the failure occurs in the roof and bottom.The greater the ratio between two stresses is,the stronger such trend is.The failure simultaneously occurs in the roof,lateral wall and bottom when the vertical stress is same with the horizontal.In other word,the failure type of tunnel is in connection with the ratio of two stresses and not related to the level of stress.

    The stability of the underhand drift cemented filling body is analyzed by using stress arch theory and beam theory,and a simple judgment formula of the stability is obtained.A filling scheme with equal cement-sand ratio is firstly proposed,and the feasibility of the new scheme is proved in a case of Jinchuan No.2 mining area.The high concentration cement filling method with the equal cement-sand ratio of 1∶6 can meet the requirements on strength,and about RMB 1.4 million yuan of costs can be saved each year.

    The lithology of the deep soft rock roadway isn't uniform and the lithology of different stratum differs greatly.The rocks are weathered and softened seriously when encountering water.Rock pressure monitoring could determine the rock mechanical properties,having a great significance on improving the mining yield and the economic benefit.Convergence deformation testing is the inspection and evaluation of the supporting effect,providing the basis of determining the most important economic and effective support scheme.Yushujing mine,affiliated to Shanghaimiao Mining Co.,Ltd,appears destruction deformation,cracking,floor swelling and the large deformation displacement of the two-sides.In order to guarantee the stability of the rock roadway and the safety of the production,rock pressure monitoring and convergence deformation testing are carried out,providing the necessary foundation of comprehensive treatment of the roadway.

    It's a huge threat of the ground-pressure disaster in the mine to the miners and equipments of the surface and underground.Generally,the mines forecast the ground-pressure disaster by building the monitoring system of ground-pressure.The data is unequal interval in the monitoring of general displacement and stress,so it's difficult to build the reasonable forecast model.The ground-pressure disaster forecasted by building the model of unequal interval grey model in Gaoyang iron mine proves that the forecasting data and the monitoring data by the model are closely fitted and the model is highly accurate.This model can provide a basis for the forecast of ground-pressure disaster.

    This paper establishes the FLAC computation simplified model for the rock slopes in the north side of Gongchangling Open Pit.It simulates and analyzes the longitudinal fault by adopting the weakening method and the interface method.In the numerical simulation,Mohr-Coulomb model with 10 steps is adopted in mining to analyze the discontinuous of stress and displacement in the rock affected by faults.Then,the evolution law of the surface slope rock,the fills in faults and fracture zone,and rock plastic flowed area,plastic unloading area and tensile failure zone near the faults are confirmed.The adaptive feature of mechanical behavior of faults by the two methods and their merits and demerits are compared and analyzed.

    Based on mutation optimization theory,a catastrophe fuzzy subordinate function is produced by adopting the mutation theory and the fuzzy math.Recursive calculation is calculated separately according to normalization formula,obtaining the total function values for different mining method separately.Analysis and evaluation on selecting different mining methods are realized.The advantage of this method is that its target weight is determined by the intrinsic mechanism of the normalization formula based on mutation theory,so as to avoid the weight determining problems in multi-objective decision-making method and to reduce the subjective evaluation factors by the personnel.Engineering example shows that the application of mutation theory to optimize mining method is reasonable and feasible.

    Based on mining characteristics of roadway mining and filling of 2# coal seam in Xingdong Coalmine,the three-dimensional numerical model was built by using FLAC3D numerical analysis software to simulate the process of coal seam mining,supporting and waste filling.By using this model,the variety of the upper settlement,plastic area and vertical stress field under two conditions are studied:the first scheme(roadways were anchored without filling) and the second scheme(roadways were anchored and filled).The results shows that,waste filling body can improve the bearing capacity of coal pillar by applying lateral stress to coal pillar,but also decrease the upper settlement and the plastic area,and control the value of vertical stress.

    This paper describes the application of a new grouting system for water-blocking in Zhaogu No.2 Coal Mine.The mine adopted the geological transformation grouting system to grout the Taiyuan and Ordovician limestone aquifer,to block the permeable fracture,and also to transform the aquifer into aquitard or impermeable layer.The cement-clay mixed slurry with the density of 1.12~1.4 t/m3 was used in the system,and the slurry was pumped into underground at velocity of 34~250 L/min,with the pipeline's diameter of 41~50 mm.About 3 000 t cement has been grouted since the system was built in 2009,the system is stable in operation,and the effect of grouting is good.The system could totally meet the demand of underground water-blocking with economic benefits of 11 592 000 yuan achieved.

    The belt transportation system is used in Yongshaba Mine of Kailin Group.The unreasonable blasting parameters result in uneven fragmentation of ore,and more and more bulk rate,thus affecting the mining capacity.In view of this situation,through the theoretical calculation and the field test,the hole-by-hole blast technique with small counteraction line is adopted to determine a reasonable differential time and stem length to obtain the optimal blasting parameters.So,the bulk rate is reduced,and the stability of belt transportation system is ensured.

    The similar material experiment and the numerical simulation calculation were adopted to analyze the slope stability in combining mining of open-pit with underground mining.The failure mode and the law of the rocks displacement are studied when mining in single underground mining and the combining mining of open-pit with underground mining. The effect of the open-pit and underground mining on the post slope mining and the adverse conditions are mastered.Based on this,the failure mode and the failure mechanics of slope mining are analyzed.The simulation result indicates that the designed slope can meet the requirement of slope stability on the whole,but the upper stages need to be reinforced and the lower stages need to be monitored to prevent from landslide.

    Siderite among Donganshan carbonates-contained iron ore usually makes the non-separation of concentrates and tailings in the reverse flotation of Donganshan Sinter Plant, resulting in the loss of the high carbonates ore. Therefore, artificial mixed minerals were adopted to investigate the effect of siderite on the reverse flotation of martite and quartz. Then, stepped flotation experiments of artificial mixed minerals and mixed magnetic concentrate of Donganshan high carbonates-contained hematite ores were carried out, where about 9.13% of siderite are removed at the first step of direct flotation in the close-circuit tests of mixed magnetic concentrate, and good index with iron concentrate of Fe grade 66.34% and recovery 71.60% was obtained in close-circuit experiment of the reverse flotation at the second step. All these approved that the stepped flotation is an effective flotation process for Donganshan high carbonates-contained hematite ore.

    The influence of sodium hexmetaphasphate, trisodium phosphate and sodium pyrophosphate on the dispersion of ultra-fine hematite and collophanite were studied by the sedimentation experiments. The results indicated that in the natural pH of distilled water, three phosphate on hematite dispersion is better than that on collophanite;For different dispersion targets, different phosphate content is required to achieve a good dispersion performance. To increase the alkalinity of the media can improve the effect of insufficient sodium hexametaphosphate on the dispersion of hematite and collophanite and insufficient trisodium phosphate on the dispersion of collophanite. The dispersion order of three phosphate-dispersants for hematite is as follows:trisodium phosphate and sodium pyrophosphate>sodium hexametaphosphate;the dispersion order for collophanite is as follows:sodium pyrophosphate>trisodium phosphate>sodium hexametaphosphate.

    In order to discuss the probability of simplifying the flotation reagent system of lead-zinc sulfide ore, preferential flotation tests were carried out on the Wulan lead-zinc sulfide ore in Inner Mongolia with the depressant of 25# aerofloat and without the usage of sphalerite. Lead concentrate with grade of 71.59% and recovery of 96.87% and zinc concentrate with grade of 46.41% and recovery of 87.89% were obtained separately. Furthermore, the grade and recovery of silver in the lead concentrate can reach 1 400 g/t and 83.90%, and the contents of arsenic in the two concentrates can meet the quality requirements. Comparing with the results of using of 25# aerofloat as collectors and sphalerite as depressant, the zinc content of lead concentrate is 1.02% higher, while the lead grade is 8.06% higher, and other indexes are corresponding relatively. By this method, the reagent system and the process can be greatly simplified, and the reagent consumption can be saved dramatically.

    In order to provide technical basis for rationally developing mineral resources at No.8 ore-body of Benxi Iron and Steel Group in large-scale, and in view of the characteristics of micro-fine embedded magnetite, the beneficiation tests were carried by the process of bulk dry magnetic separation for tailings removal-single low intensity magnetic separation and the process of bulk dry magnetic separation-low intensity magnetic separation-reverse flotation. The results showed that iron concentrate with Fe grade of 65.76% and recovery of 75.93% was obtained by the former under the final grinding fineness -0.030 8 mm 90%;Iron concentrate with Fe grade of 65.47%, recovery of 74.43% was obtained by the latter under the grinding fineness of -0.043 mm 90%. Since the technical indexes obtained by the two processes are similar, which one you adopted depends on the technical and economical comparison.

    The process of low intensity magnetic separation-high intensity magnetic separation-gravity separation was adopted to treat the low-grade mixing iron ore of Xinjiang Provicne, by which the iron concentrate grade reached 65%, but the recovery was only about 50%. Therefore, in order to improve the recovery, the beneficiation tests were carried out by the process of dry pre-concentration, low intensity magnetic separation-high intensity magnetic separation-reverse flotation. The test results showed that about 20% of the waste rocks were removed by the dry pre-concentration firstly. Then, the final concentrate graded at 65.25% with the recovery rate of 69.28%, which is higher by about 19% than that of on-site production.

    In view of characteristics of complex ore components,and easily-floation but hard-separation of valuable minerals for a silver-tin poly-metallic sulfide ore,the beneficiation tests were carried out by the process of zinc-tin mixing flotation- copper-lead flotation of mixing concentrate-zinc-sulfur flotation of mixing tailing with new-type special collector EMS-01A,and then copper,lead,zinc,silver and sulfur were recycled successfully.The reaction mechanism between EMS-01A and the target minerals was investigated by Zeta-potential tests and IR spectrum analysis,which indicates that the chemical adsorption is realized strongly on chalcopyrite and galena surface by EMS-01A while the absorption on sphalerite and pyrite was comparatively weak.This provides a guarantee for separation of Cu-Pb and S-Zn.

    The effect of alumina contents on the z value in Sialon phase at the synthesis of ZrN-Sialon composites by carbothermal reduction-nitriding of zircon and industrial alumina under various temperatures was investigated by XRD and SEM.The results showed that the products at both 1 500 and 1 550 ℃ are mainly granular ZrN and prismatic β-Sialon.When the alumina content is stoichiometric or exceeding 5%,Sialon phase exists in the type of Si3Al3O3N5(β-Sialon,z =3),and when exceeding 10% or 20%,it is in the type of Si2Al4O4N4(β-Sialon,z =4).The products at 1 600 ℃ are ZrN and Sialon,and Sialon phase transforms to 15R-SiAl4O2N4 which has plate-like morphology.Increasing alumina content can promote the transformation of Sialon phase.The proper alumina content is stoichiometric or exceeding 5% and the optimizing synthesizing temperature is 1 550 ℃.

    The analysis on the ore-forming contents of Xiongcun porphyry copper deposits in Tibet showed that Gold content are relatively high.The copper ores exhibit Cu/Au atomic ratios much smaller than 25 000,Au/Mo atomic ratios greater than 30,which signify them as gold-rich porphyry copper deposits.There is a close correlation between Au,Cu and Ag in Xiongcun porphyry Cu-Au deposits,but poor correlation between Au and Mo.The ore-body is widespread in the phyllic and siliconization alterations zone,and Au and Ag mainly occur in chalcopyrite.Xiongcun porphyry mineralization is generally low in depth,and gold-rich porphyry copper deposits tend to be emplaced at levels of 0.4~1.5 km.Mo in Xiongcun copper(gold) deposit mainly occur in molybdenite and more concentrated in the edge of the ore body with a lower content of only one-tenth of Qulong porphyry copper deposit.Xiongcun porphyry deposits are formed in an environment of island arc or similar island arc.

    This paper investigated the occurrence characteristics of main ore-forming elements such as Cu,Sn,W in deposit,from the observe and analysis on the wall-rocks,altered granite and ore samples in Xi'ao copper-polymetallic deposit in Gejiu,Yunnan by using optical microscopy,electron probe micro-analyzer(EPMA) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The results showed that copper occurs as chalcopyrite and enargite,tin occurs as cassiterite and custerite,and tungsten occurs as scheelite.Besides Cu,Sn,W used in industry,Mo,Bi can be comprehensively utilized as well.

    The main stress in the mineralization period of the deposits is analyzed by using the joint contour diagram and the joint rose diagram.Compared to the regional tectonic evolution of the deposit,the fracture and the joint of deposit  are classified.Then,the levels and time of the ore-controlling faults are determined and matched with the ore-controlling joints.Meanwhile,the ore-controlling mechanism of deposits and its metallogenic law are analyzed.The analysis shows that the main stress in the mineralization period is in the direction of NNE-SSW.The deposit is mainly grown in the form of echelon vein ore-body.The ore-controlling faults are divided into three levels,and the mineralization is classified into three stages.Combining with the geological background of mineralization and the geological feature of the deposit,the ore prospecting direction is proposed.

    Taking Dayugou Coal Mine in Henan Province as a case,and based on data collection and field work,the variation rule of ecological environment in 21 a since 1988 is analyzed according to Landsat5 TM and Landsat7 ETM+ remote sensing data by using ERDAS IMAGINE 9.1 and Arcgis9.3 software,and Dimidiate Pixel Model,with combination of the statistical methods and GIS spatial analysis techniques.The results indicate that a good effect is obtained by using the multi-temporal remote sensing monitoring data to monitor and analyze the dynamic variation of mine ecological environment.Damage to the ecological environment in the mine is closely consistent with the resource extraction activities in time and space,and the variation rate of the ecological environment is positively correlated with the production capacity in the mine.

    In order to grasp the reclamation effect of the Zhongshan dump of Masteel Gushan Mining Company, the nutrients content and the heavy metals content in the surface soil before dump reclamation, the experiment potting soil matrix, the soil surface after reclamation and the plants were checked and analyzed. The results showed that the readily available nitrogen in land reclamation of Zhongshan dump was low, and the nitrogen fertilizer should be increased in following rehabilitation, or the nitrogen-fixing plants are widely planted. Although the heavy metal content in the original surface of Zhongshan dump exceeded the standard, the plants can grow up well. With the increase of land reclamation, the heavy metal content in agricultural land productivity exceeded the relative national standard since the heavy metals migrate from the soil into the plant. Therefore, to solve the migration of heavy metals should be focused at the following land reclamation.

    Granular activated carbon was modified with nitric acid of different concentration.The surface chemical characteristic of pre-modified and post-modified activated carbon was analyzed by BET specific surface area test and Boehm functional group titration.The treatment effects of simulated wastewater containing copper by pre-modified and post-modified granular activated carbon were compared.The results indicated that specific surface area and the total quality of acid functional group increased in the process of nitric acid oxidation,which lead to the increase of the Cu2+ removal rates considerably.On the conditions of normal temperature,natural pH,equilibrium time of 180 min,absorbent dosage of 5 g/L,the Cu2+ removal rates was above 70% by the granular activated carbon which was modified with nitric acid of 10% concentration,and about 90% by the granular activated carbon which was modified with nitric acid of 70% concentration respectively.The Cu2+ adsorption behavior of nitric acid-modified granular activated carbon conformed to Langmuir adsorption equation.

    This article will introduce the gray model to prediction of mining land use change,make use of 3 phases of TM data in Pingshuo mining area,combine with the actual characteristics of mining land use,divided 7 kinds of land use type:the arable land,forest & grass land,industrial and residential land,water,transportation land,to be reclaimed land,unused land,analysed and studyed the gray model method and the solution process in Pingshuo mining land use.Prediction results show that:arable land decreased,it is expected to reach 18 173.21 hm2 in 2023,percent for 45.4% of the total mining area;At the same time,the to be reclamated land formed by the collapse land and dump land gradually increased,it is expected to reach 3 849.62 hm2 in 2023,Therefore,the strength and progress of land reclamation should be increased,to promote change from the reclamated land to arable land as soon as possible,and harmonize the change speed between production building and ecological building on land-use.to ensure the sustainable use of various types of mining land

    In the base of determination of air-flow thermal parameters at Jinchuan No.2 mine,the variety regularity of airflow enthalpy,moisture content,relative humidity,dew point temperature and air density with airflow route,and the types and distribution of heat and humidity source at high temperature mine of Jinchuan No.2 mine are grasped.In the JinChuan No.2 Mine,the main heat source is self-compressed hot of air flow,heat dispersal of waste gangues in transportation,wall rocks and mechanical equipment in shaft;The main humidity source is the watering,the water gushing and the spraying for dust control in panel.In view of these heat and humidity sources,some control measures are put forward.

    Taking the recovery of titanium from the sub-marginal ore in Panzhihua V-Ti magnetite mine as a goal, the property of the sub-marginal ore and the economical minerals were compared, and the beneficiation experiments about recovering titanium from sub-marginal ore was analyzed. It showed that the titanium iron ore content in sub-marginal ore is similar to that in economical minerals, and further, the beneficiation recovery performance of titanium from sub-marginal ore is good. No matter what the lab tests and the industrial tests are, high grade of titanium concentrate with the TiO2 content of over 47% can be obtained. Therefore, these sub-marginal ores own a high value in use.

    By using KCl as potassium source,the dynamic adsorption and desorption property of Zhongxiang rectorite in Hubei Province to Potassium ion was studied.The results indicated that the adsorption of K+ on rectorite was fast,and the process of the dynamic adsorption matched the ExpAssoc model with the equilibrium adsorption time for 30 min.And the adsorption fit Langmuir isotherm adsorption model with the adsorption quantity of 14.588 mg/g as well.The desorption quantity of K+ by HCl solution in pH 5 was minimum and the desorption quantity by Ca2++Mg2+ increased with the increasing of (Ca2++Mg2+) concentration.The desorption fits Elovich equation and exponential equation(Double constant equation) well.Because rectorite is a good potassic fertilizer sustained-release carrier,so the lower concentration of (Ca2++ Mg2+) in the soil is,the better effect of sustained-release is.
