Abstract: Shortest path and cargo flow assignment are the two key optimization problems which existed in mining pit transportation system. There are many fully-developed mathematical software packages available for solving these problems. It's suggested that engineering application should mainly focus on model development and let professional software package to compute the result.According to graph theory, mining pit transportation pathnet was analyzed, a shortest path model based on 0-1 integer programming was proposed, and a cargo flow assignment model based on linear programming.LINGO was recommended for solving the problem in the given example.
