Numerical Simulation of Cyclonic Separation Structure in Flotation Column Based on FLUENT Software

Abstract: In order to assuring the effect of cyclonic separation in cyclonic-static micro-bubble flotation column for large-scale industrial application, multi-cyclonic separation structure was designed to replace the original single cyclonic separation structure.Numerical simulation and comparative analysis of the two cyclonic separation structure were carried out by FLUENT software, and the results show that:Velocity of multi-cyclonic separation structure cross section and central longitudinal profile is significantly higher than single cyclonic separation structure, so its cyclonic force field and mineral flotation rate is bigger than single cyclonic separation structure.The internal turbulence strength is also significantly stronger than single cyclonic separation structure, so multi-cyclonic separation structure is more beneficial to strengthening mineralization effect and increase the separation index of fine mineral.
