Abstract: With bituminous coal from Shandong as reducing agent, and QM as assistant reducer, the experiment on refractory hematite ore from Inner Mongolia was carried out by the process of direct reduction-two-stage grinding-low intensity magnetic separation. The results show that under the conditions of reducer and assistant reducer with dosage of 40% and 30% and roasting at 1 200 ℃ for 3 h, grinding size at first-stage of 70.63% -0.074 mm and two-stage of 90.48% -0.043 mm, magnetic intensity of 110 kA/m, the powder iron with Fe grade of 91.74% and Fe recovery of 91.46% was obtained. It provides an alternative proposal for the development and utilization of the iron ore as this kind.
