Abstract: It is difficult to produce high-quality andalusite concentrate for a low-grade andalusite mine by adopting the traditional process of gravity separation-positive flotation-high intensity magnetic separation. Then, it needs to optimize the traditional process by the tests, that is, one reverse flotation is added to remove mica before the position flotation, and one cleaning is cut off. And the technical conditions tests are made for the newly upgraded process. Under the optimum technical conditions, andalusite concentrate with Al2O3 grade of 60.13% and andalusite recovery of 61.32% were obtained, which can meet the best standard for andalusite.
