Abstract: Insulating pillar plays an important role in the stability maintenance of mine during mining. During the process of mining method change with the mining depth increasing, the limit equilibrium method is used to calculate out that the thickness of insulating pillar is 10 m according to the field engineering condition of a mine. With the use of 2D numerical calculation software RFPA,the mine stability is analyzed and the result shows that the 10-meter thickness insulating pillar can maintain the stability of stope and meet the demand of mine production.
