Abstract: At current，there is mostly manual monitoring at tailings dam displacement monitoring.Its monitoring frequency and accuracy are difficult to meet the needs for the safety production and management of tailings pond.According to the specific situations of tailing dam in Tongxin Mining Industry Co.，Ltd.，the GPS displacement monitoring system is designed and installed for the tailing dams.From the analysis on tests data，it concludes that the data dispersion control of the system is good，and its maximum displacement is controlled within the limited range of accuracy.The system can fully reach the desired accuracy.
