Abstract: The basic situation of tailings pond management in Anhui province is summarized.These tailing ponds mainly distribute in such five places as densely populated place,industry gathering zone,water sources basin,scenic spots and transportation hubs.In view of the issues in tailing ponds management of Anhui province including wide distribution,weak infrastructure,low investment,different understanding,and little attention to it,the necessity to further strengthen the tailings pond management was analyzed,and some proposal for further strengthening the management were put forward:①implement more stringent admittance management; ②vigorously promote management informationization; ③promote structural adjustment; ④promote the comprehensive utilization of tailings; ⑤strictly regulate the operation and management; ⑥largely increase investment; and ⑦strengthen associated law enforcement between different departments.
