Abstract: The Ⅱ1 ore body in Erlihe Lead-zinc Mine looks like an irregular saddle. The ore body at saddle is so thick that it is very difficult to exploit. The open stoping method with footwall chute was adopted once in the mine, but had a non ideal effect.According to the mining technical conditions of Ⅱ1 ore body, the room and pillar method is recommended for the thick saddle-like ore-body.In the tests, the loss ratio, dilution ratio and mining-cutting ratio were all significantly declined.Meanwhile, the collapse of mined-out area was effectively controlled by using the anchor to support the roof. The room and pillar method is ideal for exploiting the saddle of Ⅱ1 ore body based on analyzing all influencing factors.
