Abstract: The ETM+ remote sensing images of the peripheral of Zhaxikang Zn-polymetallic deposit are processed by adopting the ratio method and the principal component analysis method based on the ENVI remote image processing software.Firstly, methods of band combination, radiometric and geometric correction are used to deal with the remote sensing images.Band of ETM+1,4,5,7 are selected to analyze the principal component and the TM+5/TM+7 replaced TM7 so as to extract the hydroxyl alteration information. In order to obtain the iron alteration information, band of ETM+1,3,4,5 are chosen to make the principal component analysis and the TM+5/TM+1 replaced TM+5.Then,the linear, ring and ribbon elements are visually interpreted from the remote sensing images. Finally, the hydroxyl alteration information, the iron alteration information, the interpretation of remote sensing geological feature and the existing geological data of mining area are analyzed comprehensively.Due to the feature that orebodies are controlled by a shear structure,it is inferred that Sn oerbody maybe exist in the deep by comparative analysis of Xianghualing Sn-polymetallic deposit in Hunan. Therefore, five perspective ore prospecting areas are delineated for the sake of providing some scientific basis for the future prospecting in the peripheral Zhaxikang Zn-polymetallic deposit.
