Tectonic Setting of the Formation of Quartz-vein Type Gold Mineralization in Kalamali Gold Belt of Xinjiang

Abstract: According to the geological survey results,the ore-hosting rock series of quartz-vein type gold mineralization in Kalamali gold belt is made up of ophiolite and tephra-sedimentation formations.The geochemistry characteristics of main and trace elements among sedimentary types of ore rock siliceous rocks and clastic rocks are researched.Then,w(MnO)/w(TiO2) value and w(Al2O3)/w(Al2O3+Fe2O3) value of siliceous rocks is 1.3~3.7 and 0.08~0.36 respectively.The standardization mode curve of REE among north American shale is close to the horizontal level,the δCe/δCe* value is less than 1,δLa/δCe value is 1.12~1.93.It is determined that the sedimentary environment is the oceanic basin that affected by spreading ridge hydrothermal activities seriously.Clastic rocks come from the continental island arc which sources are affected by the oceanic island arc.It is further confirmed that,volcanic rocks of ophiolite are forming in fore-arc area.The close relationship between the quartz-vein type mineralization and the volcanic rocks is discussed,and they both maybe the product of subduction of oceanic ridge under the island arc system between 310~315 Ma.The hydrothermal activities under different environments has different performance,that is to say,the hydrothermal sediment siliceous rocks is deposited near the ocean floor basalt,and the gold-bearing quartz veins deposited in tectonic fractures of two host rock series.
