Silver and Copper Sulfide Concentrate Smelting Process by Pyrometallurgical and Hydrometallurgical

Abstract: There are 5.63% copper,2 419 g/t silver and 4.28% sulfur in a Cu-Ag concentrate with particle size of 79.50% -0.077 mm.In order to improve the additional value,reduce transport cost,gain the profits for enterprise,the pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical smelting research is conducted on the concentrate.The results show that with industrial salt to sample mass ratio of 1∶20 and chlorination roasting at 850 ℃ for 1.5 h,roasted products were pretreated by 2% dilute sulfuric,and then leached for 60 min by adding 25% ammonia water,with volume equal to 10% sulfuric acid volume.Copper and silver leaching rate of 96.60% and 96.40% was achieved respectively.The smelting method is high efficient in recovering copper and silver from Cu-Ag sulfide concentrate,with characteristics of simple process,high recovery and easy to operation.
