Abstract: The spatial variability of moisture and growth status of Eragrostis curvula on rare earth tailing slopeland was studied in Xiazhuang rare earth mining area in Dingnan County of Jiangxi Province. Results show that:①tailing moisture changes on the whole in the order of the bottom-slope > the mid-slope > the top-slope along the level direction, and southern slope > western slope > eastern slope in terms of the slope aspects, but there is no significant difference in moisture between different slope aspects;②the biomass of Eragrostis curvula changes on the whole in the order of the mid-slope > the bottom-slope > the top-slope along the vertical direction, but there is no significant difference in biomass between different positions along the vertical direction;③the correlation between the biomass of Eragrostis curvula and the moisture content is weak, showing that the spatial variability of moisture has no significant impact on biomass of Eragrostis curvula on rare earth tailing slopeland;④the spatial variability of biomass of Eragrostis curvula is significantly larger than that of moisture on rare earth tailing slopeland.
