Influence of Emulsion and Flocculation on Gold Recovery from a Micro-fine Particle Gold Tailing

Abstract: Micro-fine particle gold in a flotation gold tailing in the Xiaoqinling region of Shaanxi Province mainly exist in native gold and the gold inclusion form.The comparative experiments between conventional flotation and emulsion and flocculation flotation were conducted in order to better recover gold in gold tailing and acquaint the reinforcing effect of emulsion and flocculation flotation.The results show that gold concentrate grade of 14.00 g/t and gold recovery rate of 34.50% can be obtained in the conditions of the slurry concentration 25%,lime dosage of 120 g/t,butyl xanthate dosage of 100 g/t ,and No.2 oil dosage of 12 g/t.Gold concentrate with gold grade of 17.31 g/t and gold recovery rate of 77.14% can be obtained in the conditions of the slurry concentration is 25%,lime dosage of 120 g/t,butyl xanthate dosage of 60 g/t,No.2 oil dosage of 12 g/t,emulsifier acid soap dosage of 10 g/t,and flocculant LR dosage of 20 g/t.Compared with conventional flotation concentrate index,gold concentrate grade was increased 3.31 percentage points and gold recovery rate was increased 42.64 percentage points under the condition of emulsion and flocculation flotation.It is shown that emulsion and flocculation flotation can enhance the recovery of fine particles and improve the flotation concentrate index greatly.
