Abstract: Iron grade of Donganshan direct-flotation tailings containing 43.53% Fe,iron mainly exists in form of hematite, magnetite and siderite.Suspension roasting-magnetic separation was carried out in order to provide technique basis for utilization of the direct-flotation tailings. The results indicated that, with gas flow rate of 12 m3/h,H2 concentration 40%,suspension roasting temperature at 600 ℃ for 8 s,roasted products ground to -0.043 mm 95%,via low intensity magnetic separation at intensity of 85.1 kA/m,iron concentrate with iron grade of 60.52% and recovery of 78.78% was obtained.Magnetism and XRD analysis on materials both before and after the suspension roasting indicated that,iron-bearing low intensity magnetism material was changed to high intensity magnetism magnetite, enhance the magnetism, expanded the magnetism difference of iron ore and gangue minerals, effective separation can be obtained by low intensity magnetic separation.
