Abstract: College of Resources and Civil Engineering，Northeastern University，Shenyang 110819，China Based on the iron ore resources endowment characteristics，such as high processing cost，lack of high quality iron concentrate and low efficiency utilization，the development strategies of available use of the inferior quality ore and optimal use of the high quality ore for the domestic iron ore resources have been put forward.The innovation Preconcentration-Suspension Roasting-Magnetic Separation (PSRM) technique combined mineral processing and metallurgy for the complex refractory iron ores was emphatically introduced，and the application prospect of the PSRM technology in reusing of the inferior iron ores and improving the efficiency of resources was discussed.While，the green preparation technology route of super iron concentrate and clean steel base material has been proposed for the high quality iron ore resources，in order to accelerate our country′s iron and steel material products upgrading from low-end to high-end through multidisciplinary fusion methods.The key development directions in exploitation and utilization of iron ore resources，such as strengthen technological innovation，speeding up industrial restructuring，and improving utilization efficiency and product quality were prospected.
