Abstract: As the tailings of metal mine production rate is high,so,it is difficult to make full use of the tailings material. The goal of no tailings discharge can be realized by filling the open-pit with tailings material.Based on the principle of limit equilibrium method of SLOPE/W software, the slope formed by dumping waste rocks and tailings is simulated, the rational slope pattern with reasonable stability coefficient is obtained. The difference of thickness and slope of the mixed placement of materials in horizontal and inclined are analyzed respectively to analyze the rational stacking scheme of waste rocks and tailings. The results show that stability of the slope formed by using waste rocks and tailings is superior to the one formed by separately using waster rocks or tailings under the same conditions;the reasonable slope angle is from 35° to 45°,the stacking thickness of waste rocks is the fours times of the one of tailings. The above analysis results further show that based on multi-sensor and wireless transmission technique, the slope stability can be monitored effectively by setting the the warning value of slope stability, which can provide a effective method for dumping tailings in open-pit.
