Beneficiation Optimization and Production Practice for a Foreign Gold Ore with Copper

Abstract: From a foreign copper-containing gold sulfide,gold is recovered by the flotation sulfur (gold)-cyanide leaching-carbon adsorption processing.As the gold concentrate contains the copper of 1.15%,when leached gold with cyanide,copper leaching not only affect the gold cyanide leaching (effect of cyanide on gold is less than copper),but also consume large amount of cyanide.Leaching solution contain high content of copper,and high-copper carbon is produced when carbon adsorb gold,resulting that more bleaching powder for removing the cyanide is consumed.In gold metallurgy processing,that high-copper carbon is desorbed and refined needs a long time and high cost.Also,it is difficult for carbon regeneration,and carbon adsorption capacity is decreased.In order to resolve the series of problems in gold concentrates with high copper,on the basis of the experimental study on mix flotation of gold and copper-concentrate regrinding-separation of copper and sulfur(gold),the processing on site was optimized to realize the gold concentrate with Au grade of 13.09 g/t and Cu grade of 0.07% and the Au recovery of 35.00%,and copper concentrate with Cu grade of 14.00% and the Cu recovery of 60.00% and Au grade of 203.69 g/t and the Au recovery of 92.00%.After the process optimized,the consumption and cost of cyanide and other reagents are decreased obviously,and the gold recovery is increased significantly with copper concentrate produced.Therefore,the enterprise obtains a significant economic benefit.
