Abstract: Safety assessment as an important means for accident forecast and prevention has turned the conventional safety empirical management to an “early process” consisting of pre-identification, forecast and prevention of the system danger. The paper investigates the status quo of the safety assessment of the mining process in metallic mines which belong to highly dangerous industry. Assessment is made to find the potential danger and harmful factors and their dangerous degree, and corresponding rational and feasible safety measures and suggestions are made to provide a scientific basis for the safety production management of mines, thus benefiting the improvement of the mine intrinsic safety and the realization of safety production.
