Abstract: The status quo of land reclamation and ecological reconstruction both in and outside China and the new progress in the technology for land reclamation are presented, including reclamation soil erosion control technique and its industrialization, water conservancy, seed sowing and covering technique, man-made “surface soil” technique, effective bio-technique in the reclamation of mine solid waste, multi-covering technique of tailings. The present and future four research fields are suggested: technique of preventing the pollution of acidic mine waste, technique of preventing and controlling the water and soil loss under the slope, technique of soil reconstruction and fertility cultivation, and technique of topographic restoration and landscape design in land reclamation.
