Numerical Simulation of Rock Mechanics and 3D Visualization Based on Virtual Reality Technology

Abstract: With the continuous development of computer technology,the virtual reality technology and the numerical simulation of rock mechanics have been widely applied in mining engineering.On one hand,as a comprehensive display platform,the virtual reality system is able to show the integrated information in real time,including production tempo,mining methods,personnel,equipment,etc.,but it lacks the safety data of surrounding rock,such as the stress field and the displacement field; On the other hand,although the numerical simulation of rock mechanics can obtain the safety information through calculation,the its display function in the subsequent processing is weak.Therefore,both the virtual reality technology and the numerical simulation of rock mechanics have their advantages on the function and effect,and are highly complementary to each other.Taking the Xincheng Gold Mine as an case,the two kinds of technical means in the same time is adopted to eventually achieve the effect of complementary advantages.The research content in this paper has important significance to the mines with the application condition of the virtual reality technology and the numerical simulation of rock mechanics.
