Abstract: A lot of goafs are left when the underground mine adopts the open stoping method, which will pose a great threat to the safety of mine when these mined-out area constitute goafs group. So the reasonable measures should be taken according to the characteristics of the goafs. It is vital to make the stability evaluation on goafs. In order to analyze the stability state of goafs in a calcite mine, the investigation on existing goafs is conducted to get its basic information. Then three-dimensional model for mined-out area is established via the numerical simulation method. The numerical simulation analysis on three groups of models is carried out respectively from the width of goaf and size of pillar to get the reasonable width of goaf and size of pillar and confirm the stability state of group goafs, which provides theoretical basis for the following treatment of goafs.
