Abstract: There is 27.24% iron in a gold smelting slag from Henan Province. The iron in the slag mainly exists in the form of hematite.Direct reduction roasting-low intensity magnetic separation process was conducted on the slag to recovery iron from this gold smelting slag. The results showed while the dosage of reducing agent is 15%,dosage of calcium oxide is 5%,roasting temperature is 1 150 ℃,roasting time is 80 min,and then ground the roasted product to -0.045 mm accounted for 75%,magnetic field intensity is 60 kA/m,the iron concentrate with iron grade of 91.4% and iron recovery of 79.5% can be obtained, high efficiently recovery of iron in slag was realized.
