Abstract: There are large amounts of valuable metals such as Au，Ag，Cu，Pb，Zn in gold smelting slag.So it not only can reduce environment pollution caused by tailings storage but also can provide economic benefits to recovery and utilize the smelting slag.In order to provide technique basis for utilization of valuable metals in a gold smelting slag in Henan Province，high temperature chlorination roasting process was conducted on the slag.Results indicated that with CaCl2 dosage of 7%，roasting temperature of 1 100 ℃ for 60 min，volatilization rate of Au，Ag，Cu，Pb，Zn is 96.01%，81.69%，86.57%，99.67%，99.07%，respectively，comprehensive recovery of valuable metals was realized.
