Abstract: With the depletion of high grade copper mineral resources，it has become very urgent to develop the discarded copper tailings.In this paper，the status of copper tailings in our country is described briefly and the recent advances on the processing way of copper tailings are introduced.Based on the analysis for the main developing technical routes of the copper tailings resource，the inorganic wet chemical beneficiation process which is the way to separate and enrich the valuable metal ions at different acidity efficiently from the tailings as the most promising way has been proposed.
