ANSYS-Based Stability Analysis of Stope

Abstract: Numerical simulation and nonlinear analysis were conducted on the stability of the typical stope roof in the orebodies in No. 3 ore belt of Shizhuyuan deposit and on the influence of the mining process on the mechanical behavior of the surrounding rock by the finite element analysis software ANSYS. The optimum stope structural parameters were determined by comparing the simulation results of nine typical stope structural models and by considering the factors such as excavation efficiency and mining cost. Suggestions were made the correction and adjustment of the present mining scheme so as to better grasp the stope ground pressure development and change regularity for its effective management and for realizing a safe and efficient mining of the ore bodies.
