With the underground mining depth increased, the development working failure is more and more serious because of high ground pressure. It is of significance to keep those development workings stable. Based on the theoretical analysis and the tests, the depressurized support can be adopted to keep the development stability in the high stress area or some area that are seriously affected by mining stress. In this way, the high stress can be released by depressurized mining. Based on the stress reduced degree, the suitable support form and parameters can be chosen so as to keep the development working stable by depressurizing the support. And the industrial application results show that the depressurized support technology can effectively control the deformation of surrounding rocks in tunnel and keep the tunnel stable.

The sedimentation properties of full tailing was studied by sedimentation column test, and test results showed that the sedimentation procedure can be easily divided into self-weight sedimentation phase and self-weight consolidation phase by loglog coordination of sedimentation velocity and time. The self-weight sedimentation phase takes about 3 h. The density and concentration increase with sedimentation time increase. Within the first hour, the sedimentation is slow, while between one hour and four hours, the tailing sedimentation varies fast. After 24 h, each index in the sedimentation procedure comes to be steady. With the depth increase, the density and concentration increase as well. 

For the reality of multi-level mining in Jinchuan No.2 mine under the complicated geological and mining conditions, three-dimensional finite difference code, the mechanism, on which temporary pillar support controlled redistribution of the ground pressure and convergence displacement in mined-out structure, was found, and the change in distribution of the pillar's stress and deformation was obtained as the horizontal pillar was thinned and disappeared due mining in sublevel downwards. The results showed that at the beginning of pillar formation, it played important role in controlling the convergence between the hanging wall and footwall surrounding rock of mined-out range, but obvious stress concentration occurred in the conjunction of the pillar and surrounding rock. After recovering the pillar, the convergence deformation of the footwall increased obviously in comparison with the hang wall's deformation, but it could not caused catastrophic ground pressure movement.

Jiling iron ore-body which belongs to Gansu Jinchang iron industry group is a gently inclined medium-thick ore body. The main mining method for it is sublevel stoping with its sublevel height of 10m and medium-length hole blasting. The ore recovery is about 50% and the dilution is about 29%, which have been maintained for many years. Research showed that there are many problems of the sublevel stoping process, such as large excavation volume of the footwall waste rock, large amount of ore drawing loss, and the top pillar can not be recovered etc. In light of the problems above, the sublevel stoping by step-stoping was applied in Jiling iron. The practice shows that the recovery can be increased from 50% to 68%~70%,and the dilution rate can be decreased from 29% to 17%~20%, so the economic benefits are greatly significant. The process provides a reference to the similar mine.

The traditional Strength Reduction Technique (SRT) was based on the linear Mohr-Coloumb criterion, and the analysis result is reliable for the general soil materials. However, to the rock material whose stress-strain characteristic is nonlinear, the Generalized Hoek-Brown criterion is much more accurate. In this paper, the Equivalent Mohr-Coloumb criterion was adopted, and it takes the advantage of Generalized H-B and M-C criterion into consideration. And in combination with Golden Section Search Algorithm to calculate the Safety Factor of an open pit slope, the slide surface was also searched automatically, and the possible failure mode analysis was carried out based on the stress-strain relation. All of these works provided a basis for the following slope reinforcing design.

The process of roasting-magnetic separation and acid leaching was adopted to deal with oolitic hematite ore in Hezhang, Guizhou, and the influence of the roasting-magnetic and acid leaching element on iron increase and phosphorous reduction was investigated. The results show that roasting temperature and grinding fineness have an obvious effect on iron increase and phosphorous reduction. With the roasting temperature increasing, iron grade and recovery were all first increasing and then decreasing, while phosphorus content was first decreasing and then increasing. With grinding fineness increasing, iron grade was first decreasing and then increasing, while iron recovery was first increasing and then decreasing and phosphorus content was reducing gradually. Using acid leaching would reduce the phosphorus content to 0.20% below in the roasting - magnetic concentrate. When the ore was roasted for 40 min with 5.00% coal powder amount at the temperature of 800 ℃, after first grinding then adopting a flow-sheet consisting of one-roughing and one-cleaning magnetic separation, an iron concentrate grading 59.21% at a recovery of 70.32% with phosphorus content of 0.43% was obtained. When acid leaching for magnetic separation concentrate was adopted, an iron concentrate grading 60.43% with phosphorus content of 0.18% was obtained.

Based on the introduction of the general process about the stability analysis of metal mine tailings dam, a gold mine tailings dam in Yangping Town, Linbao City is selected as an example. SEEP/W, the seepage analysis module of GEO-Studio, is applied to simulate the changing regularity of seepage field when the length of the dry beach is 30m, 50m or 100m respectively on the condition that the initial dam is impervious or pervious. Accordingly, SLOPE/W, the stability analysis module, is used to calculate the most dangerous sliding surface and stability factor in each condition. The results show that when the initial dam is impervious, the saturation line intersects tailings dam surface, and the groundwater will flow out from the dam surface; When the initial dam is pervious, the saturation line is lower than the initial dam and does not intersect the dam surface, in result, the groundwater will not flow out from the dam surface. In each condition, the stability coefficient is larger than the safety factor in the specification and when the initial dam is pervious the safety factor is larger than the factor when the initial dam is impervious. It also indicates that the tailings dam is stable, and it will be favorable for the stability of the tailings dam if the water permeability of initial dam is good.
