Abstract: In light of the engineering geological conditions of the final slope of Shizishan north wall in the east open pit of Daye Iron Mine, three analytical method of limit equilibrium theory were used in the stability calculation and CSMR method was used in the evaluation of rockmass quality. The results indicate that the slope safety coefficient is all greater than 1, representing a stable status; and the rockmass quality is of Grade II that represents a good stability, except the rockmass in the middle and upper part of the west slope which is of Grade III that represents a general stability. The analysis results accord with the present real slope stability conditions.
