Abstract: Under steep slope mining, the slope stability of open pit greatly affects the continuity and efficiency of production.Through fully considering 5 failure types of planar, wedge, toppling, circular and loose soil slope and its effect on surface water, groundwater and excavation blasting in Jinfeng Gold Mine, various reinforcement methods were proposed as follows:long cable bolt+ spray anchor net, long cable bolt+ steel mesh, long cable bolt+ spray anchor net+ anti-slide pile, long cable bolt+ steel mesh stripe and HDPE membrane. Some drainage measures as surface ditches and upward-inclined dewatering/ depressurization holes and the hole-by-hole blasting with trim shot controlled method effectively guaranteed the slope stability of open pit under steep slope mining.Meanwhile, the practical effects of these reinforcement methods were elaborated combining with years of engineering practice.
