Abstract: There is 2.54% copper,70.24 g/t silver in a copper ore from Yunnan, with low content of harmful element arsenic. 42.31% copper present in free copper oxide form; 10.84% copper present in bind copper oxide form, which is hard to be recovered; 38.58% copper sulfide exists in the form of primary copper sulfide, which is easy to be recovered. Beneficiation experiments were conducted to develop and utilize the ore. The results indicated that at the grinding fineness of 78.91% passing 0.074 mm,with sodium carbonate as regulator, sodium silicate as gangue inhibitor, butyl xanthate as collector and pine oil as frothing agent via sulfide copper flotation by one roughing-three cleanings operation. Tailings of sulfide copper flotation with D2 as activator, sodium sulfide and ammonium sulfate as regulator, ammonium butyl aerofloat and isoamyl xanthate as collector and pine oil as frothing agent via oxide copper flotation by one roughing-three cleanings-two scavenging operation. Copper concentrate with copper grade of 21.16%,copper recovery of 78.70%,silver grade of 568.35 g/t,silver recovery of 70.38% was obtained. The results can provide technique basis for reasonably recovery of the resource. There is 10.84% combined copper oxide in the ore is the cause of lower copper concentrate recovery.
